Paula Scher’s murals depict uniquely conceived maps of Queens and the New York metropolitan area. Referencing specific locations and topographic idiosyncrasies, they examine ideas of location and ways of seeing the world. Queens offers a view of the borough in relation to New York City with text in English. Metropolitan Avenue focuses more closely on the campus and its surrounding neighborhoods, utilizing languages that reference the diversity of the student body.
