CIP Project Manual

The CIP Project Manual is intended to be a guide for all designers, both consultant and in-house staff. The manual assists the designer to better understand the scoping, design, and construction support processes of CIP projects. It is intended to be used in conjunction with the A&E standards and other requirements contained in the Design portion of the SCA website. The Forms link will direct you to the Forms page, on which there are links to CIP Forms, Project Information Documents and Sample Certification Letters, all of which are used for CIP projects.

The SCA has implemented required ADA Path of Travel obligation in scoping of all projects, which is described in the ADA Path of Travel Compliance Scoping Guideline. To view the training presentation, click on the link below:

The SCA has created a protocol to be followed for projects with artwork that is part of the Public Art for Public Schools (PAPS) collection to ensure the artwork is adequately protected against damage during the project.  Below are links to the protocol and flowchart to be followed for all CIP projects.  There is also a flowchart of the process to be followed when there is artwork at a school that is not part of the PAPS collection.

Below the manual and forms links are a link to the Scoping Guidelines, which provide approaches to the scoping and design of different categories of projects, and CIP exhibits, some of which are referenced in the manual.

Any questions related to these standards and procedures should be forwarded via email to CADD Unit

The A&E Guide for Capacity Project Management was created for use by DM's and DPM's as a guide for managing Capacity Projects.  It provides an organized approach to efficiently collaborate and coordinate with other SCA departments and outside entities in the delivery of these projects. Please provide any feedback you may have on the guide or the planning guidelines to your Director, DM and/or the CADD Unit.
